Simple AI for your shop

Lots of good shops run on email, a spreadsheet and a clipboard. That's a fine way to work. You don't have to learn new software to get help from AI. Here's how to use it with what you already have.

Start with the email you already have

Paste a customer's email into ChatGPT, Claude or Grok and ask for a short, friendly reply. Or ask it to turn your notes into a follow-up for an open quote. Read it over, fix anything that's off, and send it from your own inbox.

Use AI with your spreadsheet

Copy your job list or price sheet into an AI assistant and ask plain questions: which quotes haven't been followed up, which customers are due for maintenance, or what a job would come to with your own prices. Check the math before you send anything to a customer.

Turn paper into something you can search

Take a phone photo of a handwritten work order or receipt and ask the assistant to type it up or add it to a list. Keep the paper if you like; now you also have a copy you can find later.

Keep your customers' information safe

Don't paste card numbers, passwords or anything you wouldn't put in an email. Check each AI tool's privacy settings before using it for customer details.

When you want software

If you'd rather have a tool do this for you, browse Tools by Job. Many field service apps now include AI features.

For work no software fits

Some shops have work no product fits, or want an assistant that knows their shop. HaveSight, the team that runs this site, builds custom AI for those shops with Grok Bot (their usual pick), Claude, ChatGPT and Lovable for custom apps. Based in Wilmington, NC. Projects run remotely.
